My Name is Henrietta

"I’m proud of my long red plats and bright spitting freckles over my nose. I keep house for her parents that's “all the hovering, dusting, washing, ironing, the cooking and I even mow dad's lawns. I was very happy until I found out that my parents didn’t want me any more. They weren't my parents at all.

Only after an Alien called Eanie Meanie visited me did I start to untangle the mysteries of the old coat in which the Fritzgrumpys found me. We started an adventure to uncover my past and to find the portal to Netherworld. First, in Hitherworld I met the malevolent Geegle and his bewitching violin. Then the three of us went on a series of adventures to find my family. We'd to make a boy called Arthur before starting our search at my school. We didn't realise someone was waiting for us to arrive at out destination?"

If you really want to find out what happens in this thrilling and humorous adventure you will need the key. That is to read my book…

Exerts from the book...

"Henrietta really liked being called Henri. She compared her life with her friend Emily at her junior school.
I suppose my parents are rather strange. I never eat the same as my parents. They really care for me! Instead, I eat what they call ‘special food for kids', like porridge, never a chip or a hamburger like other children. They never go to my parents’ evenings, or to my school sport’s days. We’ve no TV and rarely listened to the radio. I’m pleased my parents are always completely absorbed by each other. They’re a nice married couple.
However, Henri had upset them and feared them..." more

In the playground, she noticed the other children started behaving differently towards her. Boys in grey trousers and red polo shirts stopped playing football, held their hands to their faces sniggering at her. Girls pointed towards her gathering in groups and giggled. Her calm blue-eyed playmate Emily, a petite girl with yellow flowing hair, came to greet her as she did every morning.

"Hi Henri, do you want to play? Emily said.
“What’s up with those boys?” Henri gestured with a frown.
“Oh! I don’t know. They’re boys.” Emily grimaced.

Then Emily suggested playing tag. They ran back and forth calling each other “it,” “you’re it,” “no you’re it,” “it,” “you’re it,” until Emily ran behind Henri and walked away from her. Henri thought, where’s Emily gone? Henri felt all on her own in the bustling playground. She decided to lean against the red brick wall of the school buildings. All the laughing and giggling at her expense stopped, children instead pointed at her and started whispering while turning their backs to her. Others whispered behind their hands as they looked in her direction. more

What
are the Main Characters like?

 Henrietta
We are looking for a sincere hardworking freckled girl with long red hair to act out the main role. She is in the last year of primary school aged between 10 to 11 years old. She finds out that the stork delivered her to the wrong house and her supposed parents only wanted her to keep house for them. She starts her quest for identity from an old coat. She must be able to persuade an audience that she can make snap decisions and at other moments be convincingly indecisive. Often puzzled by her powers she always has the strength to win through.

  SNOT
We are seeking an alien to fill the above demanding roles. SNOT is ideally spherical and has an active authoritative role as the spaceship's conceited computer. It is essential for the role to have experience in special effects.

Eanie Meanie
Eanie Meanie is a challenging and rewarding role to master. He should be tall, green, and polyp shaped, possessing many sucker-bearing tentacles. The character conveys naivety about all things earthly enters the book as an unconfident explorer 3rd class on his first trip to explore new worlds. Later as Henri's leading helpmate, he always bolsters her confidence and gets her out of tight spots.

 Arthur
We are looking for a young boy actor of similar age to Henri, with fair to brown medium length spiky hair. His role is to support Henri on her adventures starting at her junior school, and travelling through different dimensions of time and space. The role is interchangeable with Eanie Meanie's, so experience of working with or playing alien roles is essential. He is a caring character with real potential for the right person to develop the role.

Geegle
We need for this part a talented adult actor between 1.3 and 1.5 metres tall. Geegle is a selfish, cunning and evil character and the actor needs to maintain this tension throughout his performance. The part later demands a more submissive style, where Geegle's self-interest merges with Henri's objective. Geegle ideally needs to have wizened and misshapen appearance. The part also demands the ability to play a violin and perform hypnosis.
  Mr & Mrs Fitzgrumpy
Humphrey Fitzgrumpy has dark matt hair and a square greying moustache. He is a high-powered salesman devoted to his work. He often gets peevish about small things, but is often fair-minded disposition.
Ada Fitzgrumpy spends her time in tanning herself on her sun bed. Her whole life is to please the object of her adoration her husband. She lives a pampered lifestyle reading magazines and lounging about. She has a spiteful attitude to Henri and only keeps her to avoid housework.

The Black Cardinal
The Cardinal is Henri's nemesis. We require an actor with experience in dark sinister roll. This character is power hungry, ambitious and seeks power for its own sake. He rallies support from any source including the Dark forces to achieve his end to enslave and dominate all his adversaries.
